My hp support assistant shows me I can install some software updates, 3 recommended and 3 optional.
I don't know about computer stuff but I do want the best. How do I know if I should install the "optional updates"? Better yet:

HP Omen 15 - Omen Button
Hello,
I have recently purchased and Omen 15 laptop and I am having trouble understanding the Omen key (the one with the omen logo)
Since I fancy myself a programmer, having a Home button is critical to my daily usage. I understand the Omen 17 supports macroing this button, but the controls to it are not available on the Omen 15. Is it possible to enable this functionality somehow?

number 3 button stops working
I have a hp omen x 17 inch screen laptop I bought this past march of 2018. I just bought this computer to play mmo, which requires consistant pushing of limited keys. my number 3 button keeps going out first time was in late april. which I have brought back for repair. they replaced they key board I got it back in late may and repair had fixed it until today. the number 3 key is not working again. it is the key I consistanly hit the most. I am wondering is there a fix to this problem an updated circuit board or key?

Your notebook must need a different graphics driver than the one I gave you.
I found another HP notebook with the same processor and switchable graphics as yours, that also has W7 drivers, so see if this graphics driver works correctly.
You may want to uninstall the current catalyst control center and graphics driver before installing this driver package.
Is it possible to find Windows 7 drivers for this system? It was originally running Windows 10 but now Windows 7 64bit

HP Bios update does not work
hi,
I'm trying to update my notebook's bios for days. I have HP Envy M6 1160ET notebook and I follow the link above to download the right bios update file. Normally I use Win10 but I just installed Win8.1 to update bios because there is no bios update file for Win10.
When I doubleclick on bios update file (SP66863.exe), something loads and the window shown as shown below. It tells me "HP Bios update enviroment does not exist" I think there is a problem with the update file. If I follow the next next and exit, it creates a usb flash drive to recover current bios version. But my intend is to update bios!!
Please help me to update bios version.
Do you have any idea to solve this problem?
Are there any way to update it manually?

HP Pavilion dv7 - USB ports on right side not working
Hi everyone -, I have a pavilion dv7t-6100 running Windows 7 32-bit and the two USB ports on the right side of the laptop do not respond to devices (flash drives, USB mice, etc) whereas the USB port on the left side works fine.
I don't have any errors or issues in my device manager that I can see.
If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. If there's any other information necessary, please ask and I'll do my best to provide.

How to get Windows 7 DVD ?
My laptop was too slow. I removed the old hard drive and installed a SSD hard disk. Initially, I had Windows 7 Home premium 64 bits installed. After installing the SSD, I had a Windows 7 professional DVD available, I installed it. Then, I saw in computer properties : Installed RAM : 8 GB (2.45 GB usable).
I noticed also that the Windows 7 DVD was 32 bits, not 64.
I dislike using only 2.45 GB instead of 8 because it's 32 bits.
Is it possible to get a Windows 7 Home premium 64 bits from HP ? I have the Windows key for that.

My computer shuts down after 1 minute
I contacted a tech Source company offering to remove errors remotely controlled my computer and now after 1 minute or less it shuts down after giving a warning "you are about to be signed out". I have recovery media on CDs but it would not load or boot the computer and the drive I am sure is still ok. For 10 seconds I can see the files on the recovery disk in Windows file Explorer but I don't know what to click and if I click on a file it has to be fast. I can enter Bios and I can set the computer to boot from CD first but it just would not do it. I cannot do a system restore to an earlier date because the computer shuts down too fast. Can I do something with the BIOS settings. I really don't want to lose my laptop it is an HP 15-r264dx Windows 8.1 64-bit

Cursor jumping around, "bubbles"
I'm having some problems with my three-year-old laptop. This all started maybe a week ago. The cursor keeps jumping to the right of the screen and there are also some kind of "ghost bubbles". It's very disturbing and happening all the time: when I'm writing, clicking or doing nothing with the laptop on.
I have done several virus scans and preformed a system recovery. That hasn't helped at all. How could I fix this?

Where to find any drivers for HP DV-6500
I have searched for hours where to find drivers for my DV-6500 laptop w/ model #GS664UA#*** since I'm doing a clean install on it and don't want all of the bloatware that comes w/ a recovery cd. Fn+ESC says HP Pavilion dv6500, bottom of laptop says the same and warranty says dv6636nr. When I search the driver site I only get the can't find your product error and even w/ using the detect my product app, also give me an error that nothing is detected. I'm mostly looking for Win 7 drivers but any that I can get my hands on will be appreciated. Anyone know where to get some or a way to actually contact HP becasue their vitrual assistant chat is a joke.

Re: smart charger
When I plug in my laptop I get a message beginning: 'The Smart AC Adapter connected will power your computer, but potentially at a reduced performance level.' It ends: 'Please connect a higher capacity Smart AC Adapter for full performance.'
I have three issues with this message. First, the adapter is the one supplied with the computer when I purchased it, so that would suggest that HP are deliberately supplying an inferior adapter. Surely this can't be right.
Second, the computer seems to be performing normally; I haven't noticed any problems either with the adpater plugged in, or when the computer is riunning on battery.
Third, I am unable to get rid of this annoying message!

Keyboard not working
Having a bit of an issue with my keyboard. It is not responding to my typing. My laptop is 3-4 years old and I never had a problemn with my keyboard until all of a sudden 5 days ago. While I was on Steam it just stopped typing. I browsed the Internet for a fix and ended up trying to uninstall the keyboard driver then restart the system like the experts online were telling people. It worked and I thought the problem was solved. But then 2 days ago it stopped working again. I tried the same trick but it was no longer helping. My keyboard is working fine on the startup screen, but as soon as I enter Windows, it stops working and won't let me type. I tried updating my BIOS and drivers already but that didn't help either. Any idea on what the problem might be and the steps I can take to fix it please?

не могу найти ключ , что мне делать , для образа файла windows 8 требуется ключ , приложение Магазин дает уведомление - проблемы с лицензией , и через него не могу сделать обновление до 8.1 . Всё началось с восстановления , видать что то сделал не то . Образ записан на флешку и установить теперь нужно через биос . Можт выкинуть вашу продукцию на свалку ? При покупке в магазине ноутбука я читал и инструкцию , и характеристики , что то не помню существование 25 - значного ключа, покупал в 2013 году . Модель hp pavilion g6 2319sr. Образ файла я скачал с сайта Mikrosoft под учетной своей записью и там мне рекомендовали за остальным обратиться в вашу службу поддержки , образ файла ограничен во времени - 24 часа на установку .

Hard Drive 1 Primary HDD Bay Failure
So just a couple days ago my laptop shut off and now every time I go to turn it on I get a hard drive failure before it boots. The failure ID is 9BTR7X-87D974-XD7X7F-61TR03 and I was wondering what I need to do to fix this? Do I need to buy a completely new laptop? To be clear all hard drive tests passed when I ran them except for the Optimized DST.
