    I've been using my HP ProBook 450 G3 for about 3 years and just've decided to try using fingerprint reader but

    I'm facing the following issue with registration of fingerprint in HP Client Security.

     

    I fill in password, then skip security questions and go to fingerprint scanning step. 

    The reader scans my finger two times saying that it is successful but asking to pass my finger for several times more as shown on video to complete registration of my fingerprint.

     

    After that it never ends.  Fingerprint registration progress bar remains only half completed.

    If I press Cancel button, HP Client Security freezes.

     

    When I forcedly close the app, it won't start again until the next reboot of the notebook. :(

    Hi..

    HP 3D Driver Guard and HP CoolSense can't installed anymore on latest Windows 10 and I think my laptop cant no longer control the fan normally then. Are there new software updates for those?

    **Solved by deleting C:\swsetup\sp67743 on my drive  and download again for HP CoolSense. Thank you!!

    Hi,

    I spilled coffee on my laptop keyboard. After cleaning & drying, letter "L" became sticky. I uninstalled standard ps 2 keyboard via device manager.  Now, the keyboard is no longer working forcing me to use external keyboard. How can I re-install the standard ps 2 keyboard?

    I've attempted to flash the bios twice now, from F.26 to F.32 Rev.A...but after restarting, it's still F.26.

    I bought on past Sunday a HP Laptop. The same day I realised that this laptop is not operating as it was supposed to do. I contacted your support team. They clearly stated that there was an issue with the Hardware of the laptop. They offered me a repairing option. However, this is my only laptop and I need it for my work since I sold my previous one because I decided to buy a brand new! Plus, I felt it is unfair to pay the full amount of the price and get a product that needs to be repaired! So I decided to to exchange it with another new Spectre. I did go to the place where I bought it from, I had a copy of my chat with HP support team just to let them know that that was a damaged product. Anyways, they did agree with what HP said to me..and I had to go through a very uncomfortable situation but this is another story...I finally convienced them that I need a new one! I did get a brand new spectre but as soon as I switched it on, I experienced the same exactly issues as with the one before! I contacted again HP support team, this time, a member of a team was working on my laptop for at least 4 hours trying to fix the issue. She called me after these hours and stated that shift is changing and that a colleague of hers would trake over and solve the issue. The colleague however, as soon as he understood the issue stated clearly again, that this is a hardware issue (the same one with the previous laptop I got). He again said that you can offer me a repair to my brand new computer (meaning for me that I will be with no laptop for few days and although I had paid full price I am getting a refurbished one)!  

     

    I searched everywhere on your website and I could not find the place where I could to file this complaint. Please understand my situation and help me finding a solution which will make me feel happy that I choose to buy an HP laptop.

  • Hi!

     

    It's over a month I've been trying to update my BIOS to F.20 Rev.A and nothing. image.pngimage.png. And still nothing - the installation appears as successful but when I re-start my computer I am still stuck with the F.11 version (2016) of the BIOS.

     

    Any help out there?

  • The bezel broke.  I tried applying pressure on it but it seems like the screws or whatever inside broke. Does anyone know how to fix it without having to send it in for warranty and waiting for one week?

    What is the best way to copy all my files, especially all my CDs, from the old pavilion to the new Pavilion.  It looks like I have USB 3.0 port on the old laptop and USB 3.1 and Type C port on the new laptop.  Windows 7 to Windows 10.   Do I buy a  USB 3.0 to USB 3.1 cable a USB 3.o to Type C cable or something else ?

    Ok, new to this discussion board, so please excuse me if this is not the right place for this question.

     

    Have an Envy notebook, purchased from a UK High Street retailer, originally supplied with Windows 8 (from memory).  Upgraded to Windows 10 x64 Build 1803 (by way of all of the earlier builds of 10) .  Laptop works fine, all the drivers install successfully, so no yellow exclamation marks in the device manager.  System is online, fully patched, with up-to-date antivirus software installed and running - now here's where it gets interesting.

     

    The current version of HP Support Assistant (HP SA) is installed, but it reports that it is offline, so no connection to the HP server; fine, run network diagnostics - full set of green ticks - online; but HP SA says it's offline!

     

    Gets even wierder - run up a VPN client into the USA and re-run HP SA - all fine, downloads updates, then installs them.

     

    This has been going on for a couple of years and SA exhibits the same issues on other HP kit, with other OS's.

     

    So my question - is the UK HP SA server offline?

    Any ideas, anyone?

    We've had the laptop for a few weeks now and periodically I noticed it running extremely slow. In Task Manager I found that the clock speed said that it was running at 0.38ghz. This is a Ryzen 2300U system with a base clock of 2Ghz.

     

    I've been able to reliably reproduce how this happens...

    1. Plug in the power cable.

    2. Put the laptop into sleep or hibernate.

    3. Unplug the power cable.

    4. Turn back on and it will be locked at a maximum speed of 0.38ghz.

    5. If I plug the power cord back in, it bounces back to normal speed. Also if I reboot (without plugging in) it clears up.

     

    I've looked in the advanced Power Options for the CPU and verified that maximum CPU is configured to 100% on both battery and when plugged in.

     

    I've also noticed that the CPU speed will throttle way down when I unplug the power while the laptop is on but then bounces back quickly. It seems that if this happens while it is sleeping then it won't throttle back up again.

     

    Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

    I downloaded hp command center from MS store.

    But i havenot got lightning optinons at hp command center

    Does my model exist this options or i've got only 1 colour of lightining keyboard(red?)

                   Myself had purchased hp laptop on 17.03.18, for rs 47000, from Vijay sales, Chandkheda, Ahmedabad, on 17.03.18, sr no 8CG80314SL, which proved to be defective, because as soon as i purchased, it had a problem of not being charged, when ON. 
                     This problem attended by IQOR, Ashram road and replaced battery, problem not solved.
                      I reported issue to company on 24.5.18, company nominate Reliance rescue, to solve the problem, one technician named Sheikh, attended on 12.6, 20.6, 30.6, and replaced batteries, problem not solved. This Mr Sheikh, from Reliance rescue, tried to restore factory setting, but he deleted all operating system, and my laptop ceased to work anymore, a request was made to company to send restoration software,   in response of which company send a pen drive  and somehow operating system restored, but problem still persists.
                      On 13.8.18, above Mr sheikh again came to me with some socket, at which that charger pin is attached to charge the battery, for this he extract mother board also, that above original problem still not solved, but now new problem arised from that day, several keys of key board is not working as keyboard has been opened for replacing batteries and other repair for eight times.
                       My laptop is now seems to be assembled, having two problems now as mentioned below,
    1.. Battery  not charging when ON.
    2.. Several keys not working now, from 13.08.18, when lastly attended by Mr 
          Sheikh from Reliance rescue.
     
                    I AM UPLOADING RECORDS WITH ME,   FINALLY I REQUEST TO ARRANGE TO REPLACE MY HP LAPTOP URGENTLY, BECAUSE THIS PIECE WAS DEFECTIVE, AND REST HAS BEEN DAMAGED/DISTURBED BY RELIANCE  RESCUE BY OPENING EACH AND EVERY PART. My colleagues like this piece and wanted to purchase it, but as this issue, they also are waiting for issue to be solved, so that we may not feel cheated.

  • 08/29/18--07:16: Which apps can I uninstall?
  • Hi! I'm trying to uninstall as much as possible from my computer so I can run my games how I want them to run. I tried to uninstall to the bare minimum a few months ago, but to my suprise, I had removed a core program and really messed up my computer. I want to remove stuff so I dont have all this ugly bloatware, and I think I've done a good job at that already, but the last few programs I need help with. 

     

    Essentially, what can I uninstall (preferably as much as possible) without removing any core programs. Also, does anybody know how to remove the stupid Microsoft apps like Alarms and Xbox? The uninstall button is greyed out so I can't remove it but they take up quite a bit of space. Thanks in advance.

    Hi, I was wondering if android apps can now be installed on my chromebook hp 14-x010nr? 

    I have found the list of chromebooks that support android apps on chrome OS system support (https://sites.google.com/a/chromium.org/dev/chromium-os/chrome-os-systems-supporting-android-apps), my problem is I honestly do not understand enough about operating systems to figure out if the particular chromebook I have can run android apps or if I am just not doing things right on my device. 

    Also, does anyone know if anybody is working on making android apps work on this particular model?

    I have had my device for several years now and I mostly just use it for social media since the webstore either does not have the apps I needed and are very few compared to the android playstore, also most of its apps are just extensions to websites and such which is okay but renders my chromebook useleess if it is offline. Most of the apps I have installed feel like they are still on beta stages, or eventually stops working over time. So now I have been looking forward to having android apps on my device ever since I read somewhere that android support for chrome OS were on the works.

    I have been reading up on google support forums and I still understand very little on these matters, please help.
