Using my Win 8.1 System Recovery DVD's
I made a set of Recovery DVD's for my computer (HP 15-g028ca Notebook PC running Win 8.1) but can't locate information about how to use them to get back up and running again, IF my hard drive ever fails. Help would be appreciated!

failed to create d:\sdv.flg
I am helping a friend with her HP dm4-2058ca. Her hard drive crashed so we bought a new one as well as ordering a set of recovery discs from HP. I am trying to do the recovery of the drive and at the 6% mark, I get the following error;
failed to create d:\dsv.flg.
I am guessing this might have to do witrh the fact that the original drive that came with the machine would have been partitioned with a c and d drive. Is this the problem and if so is there a way to pre-partition the drive. How big does the recovery partition need to be?

Recovery Windows Reinstall - How to preserve partitions
Hi,
I have tried to recover my Windows 7 installation through the Receovrery Manage: restart, ESC, chose F11 for system recovery.
Several options are shown to restore/recover/reinstall...
I expected the system to ask me in which partition I wanted to reinstall (I had 3 partitions: C: (system) and 2 additional partitions that I had created).
But I could not find any option to choose the partition.
Since I had backed up the whole disk drive, I took a chance and chose to reinstall "in the windows disk" (or somehting like that).
The result is that the entire Disk has been reformatted before Windows was installed. The partions have been crashed and all data deleted.
Could you please let me know what the procedure is in order to reinstall Windows 7 directly in the C: drive, without having the whole drive reformatted, so that newxt time it could save me some time of having to recreate my partitions and restore the data ?

Need Windows 8 Serial number after crashed harddrive
I am using a Sleekbook 15-b129wm. My hardrive crashed. I had another hdd laying around so I wiped it, installed it, then used a windows 8 iso to get things moving along. Windows is now installed but when it asked for the serial number, I looked for it on the computer in sticker form but apparently this is no longer a thing. I also looked behind the battery and there is no sticker there either. I read somewhere that the windows serial number is now encoded in the bios but I do not see that in my bios. I cannot seem to get anything off of my old hard drive (which is only about 9 months old) and I do not feel like spending money for an HP customer care line if they just tell me I need to buy windows again. Maybe someone here can point me in the right direction. Thank you.

catalyst control centre disappeared on right click on desktop....
it happened after updating amd radeon drivers for laptop..
also after upgrading my windows 8 to 8.1,intel hd graphics control panel updated to new version but ccc was not started so i updated latest amd radeon drivers but as soon as i install it intel graphics control panel comes to its previous version as that of in windows 8.
so i want my ccc back cause without its i cant play games.......

Secure Boot On HDD Need Info Off
Hello I am a IT pro and I am currently working on a client's Windows 8 machine right now I am just trying to get the stuff off of the drive for the client so I can do a clean install. But something is standing in my way all the computer does is bsod and restart when I go in leacy mode it says the drive is locked. I can not boot into my Windows PE Tools. I tried tearing out the drive and putting it in an another computer but the drive just shows up as raw format. Is there a easy way to get the info off it any help would be great thank you

System Image Backup Failed During Backup
I have a 2 year old HP pavilion g series notebook. I was doing a system image backup onto dvd+r disks. It was nearly finished when on disk #99 I got this message "The Backup Failed. The system cannot find the path specified (0x80070003)
My computer is out of warranty and I'm out $60 in disks if they can't be used. I need to know it there is a way to salvage what I saved and restart Image backup from where it left off?

Its a dv 6000 in bios it tells me it's a6700 ? Any ways I just got t from a buddy of mine and 3 days later it stopsv and sometimes it will boot up some times no... Hp Pavilion g6 laptop
Hi,
My laptop is an HP Pavilion g6 laptop and I believe it is having booting issues. When I turn it on, it shows the "Start Windows Normally" button. When I select it, it starts up as usual but then stops with my wallpaper as the background with a little box at the top left-hand corner. It says "Personalized Settings" at the top and below that is says "Setting up personlized settings for: Themes Setup". It stays that way for the rest of the time I leave the laptop on. How can I fix it?

HP Mini 110-1134CL Crash
My HP Mini (Product ID VU124UA) crashed. It doesn't boot (see error message below). It was running Windows 7 Starter. I have a Windows 7 32-bit repair dic, but the HP Mini doesn't have a CD/DVD drive. How do I recover my HP Mini? May I copy the disc to a USB drive stick?
