Short delay when launching applications (nvme Spectre 13 2017)

Hey all,

 

First off, I LOVE my new Spectre 13!

 

I have the NVME drive in it.  When I launch applications, there is a short delay before they launch.

 

When I use the software Transcribe, to playback audio from a  specified point, there is a short delay before the audio starts playing.  This is not an issue on my older core 2 duo machine with an ssd.  This seems like a small issue but when I'm learning music and restarting the playback constantly, the little delay drives me nuts!

 

Does anyone know what causes this?

Cortona stopped working after starting notebook

I turned on my notebook & cortona wasnt working,it was showing like this.

I tried couple of times by restarting my note book but it didnt work.I even restarted windows explorer in file manager,it worked but the time i shut down & turned it on same problem.I also ended cortona in task manager,it worked but the problem was coming when i shut down & turned it on.Finally it worked when i used the sign out option.Then I restarted it couple of times & no issue.I saw this error in my windows reliability monitor

I dont know about this.I ran SFC scan & got this result

i heard that to fix this result it needs to restore health but will it run Windows update too?I am currently in a limited data connection & windows update will upgrade my system from 1607 to 1709,so I cant afford that much data  right now.If it doesnt run windows update then I can try that

Options for replacing office free trial when unable to afford buying it

Hello...My office free trial has ended and I am unable to afford buying it at the moment. I usually buy Dell pc's but so love the 4 products I've had and still have for my printing,scaning,faxing,ect that I decided to buy an HP this time. The Dells all came with the office products I needed most. Is there any other similar software that costs much less or has free downloads for using it and that is safe and compatable with my HP? I home school my daughter and really need something ASAP. I just can't afford it at the moment and won't be able to for at least a couple months...by which time the school year will be pretty much over for this year.I can use the money allotted by the home school to buy it for next year so I just need something to finish this yr out with.

internal camera lost cant find program

after the windows 10 update lost camera did a reset with no results.  looking for software on camera not on listing even after opening hiden items. looks like i need the program download for camera

Windows 10 Build 1709

My Laptop won't update Build 1709 on Windows 10 & i've only had it for 2 1/2 years.

 

It is not currently supported according to HP

 

I don't really want to downgrade to Windows 8.1

 

Please can anyone help?

Hey all you folks out in the interweb world. GREETINGS from the frozen tundra of the North. Hope all are well.

 

I find myself heading off to an archive that charges $.25 / page for copy services (ouch). Not a bad deal for a handful, but I could be looking at 1000 pages.....Smiley Surprised

 

Could I toggle this HP so I could scan a document DIRRECTLY from the little peaky poo camera that right now has a piece of tape on it? I thought I could set the laptop up with a mini easel, set the page in it, double check it on the screen, push the button and bing bang.

 

Items are Black and White type written forms simply for informational purposes, so resolution is NOT needing to be particulalry high.

 

While not a complete ludite I am somewaht remedial in terms of computers and old enough to wish I paid more attention in school......can you imagine going somewhere staffed by bright caring indiviguals who's only goal is to help you grow intelectually? .....and they give you lunch to boot....sign me up!  ......whoops, to late

How can I stop a specific update?

Hello!

So my laptop keeps trying to update to Windows 10, 1607 version. But it's incompatible with my bios. How do I keep my computer from continuously trying to do this update while keeping my automatic updating on for everything else?

 

it's apparently downloaded its own program just for installing this update. all it can tell me is that it's failed and after 'checking for the problem' it says it cannot install with my bios. And just from my notebook settings, it will not allow the laptop to work on other updates until this one is done. The popups for installing this update are also super annoying.

Also, as a question following these, the only driver that i installed myself after windows finished installing itself, was the wireless. For the rest i let do it through automatic updates. Hi all people.
I have the following problem, I the newcomer in computers, notebooks and the more so in the utilities and programs standing on them. My friend from the Czech Republic sent me as she explained the old picture edited by someone ours with it in the .pdf format and to my deepest disappointment my AcrobatReader11 could not open having written such error There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.Prompt to me please as it is interesting to me to dig out this file that there for the picture such. Cat Sad

I loved the HP Image Zone that I had on my old desktop.  Is there anyway that I can download it into my laptop?  I do not know if the Windows 7 is 32 or 64 bit.  Also, I did not know what "board to choose".  Sorry

moving MS office Prof. Plus 2010 to new computer

I am trying to move my MS office Prof Plus 2010 from my old HP to a new (used) Dell notebook. I have the product key but when i went to MS www it said that "the product key you entered appears to be for software pre installed by the device manufactuer. Please contact the device manufacture for software recovery options".

 

Can you tell me how to move the applications to my newer computer? thank you!

My touch pad has stopped working completely. I have tried the double click in top left, hard restart, and updating drivers. I ran a component diagnostic and got failure code: Q4PBW8-8MQ90V-MFPUQJ-G22V03

 

What do I do to get this thing working?

HP Spectre Win 7 Drivers

I have spent over 2 weeks trying to get Windows 7 onto the HP Spectre x360 - 13-ae013dx. I have made some fantastic progress, and am almost there. All the HP drivers available from HP's website seem to work fine, but I can't get any of the Intel drivers to work.

 

The visible and important parts of the laptop that I cannot get to function are the USB-C/Thunderbolt ports. Without these, the computer is greatly handicapped since there is only one other port which is a standard USB. This would prevent external monitors, etc. I would like the touchscreen to work too, but I can live without it worst case. I tried to call Intel, but they said the NUC drivers would be the closest thing. Those did not work. HP Envy 15-bp152nr cursor moves on its own

I just bought this laptop and after the initial setup the cursor started acting weird. It is moving on it’s own and stays at the corners of the screen. I have searched for similar issues here and unable to resolve it.

Why is that a new laptop having this issue? Can someone help me please.

HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor doesn't work in Windows 10 Creator Update

Device Manager reports, "known problems with Windows"  (Code 48). I haven't been able to find the right driver to fix it. Anybody have any fixes? I am running a SSD drive.
