Dear friends,
i recently had a new hard drive installed and the machine came with Windows 7 Home Premium. When i got the machine back it had Windows 7 Professional. I tried several times to activate it with the Product Key, but MS will not accept it.
I did not write down the Product Key and the tag on the bottom over time has rubbed all that information off.
It will not do Windows Updates.
What baffles me is that I thought the machine was 64 Bit and not 32 Bit???

After BIOS Update on HP Spectre Laptop AMD Vega M Performance Drop
Hello everyone,
I have got my new laptop yesterday and it crashed several times while gaming. I think it was due to over heating. So I updated the BIOS with the driver from the HP support website because in its description it said that it would decrease internal heating. Before the update the gaming performance was very good, I could play Dota 2 on high settings smoothly. After the update I can only play on medium to low settings.
Is there anything I can do that fixes both problems?

Laptop Being Temperamental - Not Always Switching On Etc.
Hello,
Recently been having trouble with my laptop - HP Pavilion 15-P228NA.
I've had it just over 2 years now and the problem has just started occurring over the past couple months.
1) Laptop will turn on, maybe go to sleep once or twice but when it enters sleep mode for the third time it won't wake. You're just faced with a black screen but can't hear fans or anything trying to boot. The LED lights are on but you have to turn it off via power button and turn back on.
2) Over the past week, my laptop sometimes will just not turn on for the first time that day. If you leave it 6 hours or so it usually works again, however I was using it and it froze up completely. Pointer on mouse froze and computer didn't recognise on screen that I had plugged my charger in.
I've tried the hard reset but that won't work. I asked my friend who is quite up on IT and they said it seems odd as if it was a hardware issue it probably wouldn't be so temperamental, it either would or wouldn't work.
Any ideas? Suggestions on things to try etc. would be very much appreciated!
Could a Windows Update have a hand in it???

warranty issue
So I have recently purchased a new laptop having a year warranty and after 3 days had extended the warranty for more 2 years ,in total 3 years and paid the respective fees and a mail has come regarding some IPL offer but nothing was mentioned regardng the warranty extension and when I checked the support ,it was mentioned just for 1 year.Why so?And if it takes time to update on site,why no mail has been sent regarding 2 years extra warranty?

Need "Fingerprint Management Application" that is NOT HP ProtectTools
Here's my situation: I need a "Fingerprint Management Application" to bridge between my installed fingerprint reader driver (Synaptics FP Sensors (WBF) (PID=003d)) and Windows 7 (which states "The selected fingerprint reader has no management application installed.") I can't use HP ProtectTools because it seems to install some kind of pre-boot authentication layer. That's not going to fly since I have to be able to support the laptop via remote session even when users forget their passwords and get locked out. The fingerprint reader apparently stops working in these cases so the user can't get past the pre-boot auth step.
I guess what I'm looking for is the bare minimum software package that will let the user log into Windows via the fingerprint reader but doesn't involve any kind of pre-boot hooks.

Videos in Firefox - high CPU usage
Hello,
I have problem with high usage of CPU during playing videos in Firefox. For example Youtube in HTML5. I even tried to use addon to force h264 encode, but it didnt help. Before I press play usage CPU by FF is about 2-6%. During playing it gets 30-50%, sometime even higher. I read that there may be any problem with audio driver. If have any ideas please helpp me, becouse watching videos on this PC now is nightmare.

Problem with Intel Trusted Execution Engine Interface driver
I'm in the middle of updating my Windows 10, which I've tried multiple times and none of them succeed. While looking for solution for this, I find that I might have some old drivers which needed to be updated first.
When I checked Device Manager, there was one unknown driver, which was Intel Trusted Execution Engine (ITXE) Interface, under System Devices group.
I've tried to downloaded driver from HP and installed it, but a notification appeared at the end said : Device cannot start (Error: 10). I've also consulted this with someone from HP Support Assistant via chat session. Before we ended the chat, he said that I should try to download a driver from Intel: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27006/Intel-Trusted-Execution-Engine-Interface-Intel-TXE-Driver-for-Intel-Compute-Card-CD1C64GK-CD1P64GK.
I've downloaded and opened it but it said that the driver doesn't match with the machine.
I also read that upgrading BIOS version could resolve the problem. I've tried that but the problem still occur.
Can anyone please help me about this? And out of topic, what else that may cause updating Windows 10 to its newest version to fail?

Energy saving options problem
Hi everyone, I can not get the computer to go off automatically and not even turn off the screen.In the power saving options I set the screen off after one minute of inactivity but it does not work, and the same happens with the PC suspension.How can I solve?I also tried to create another profile in the energy saving options but nothing to do.Thanks in advance to those who will help me.

Onn 4/23/18, AOL updated its software. I can't open the file. When I tried to open File Explorer to see if AOL was actually there, I can't get onto File Explorer either.

Pavilion dv8-1010er vs Win10
Hi all!
I have Pavilion dv8-1010er laptop (one of officially delivered to Russia) and it is very seldom item here. Actually I own it about eigth years and since it work fine, but I'm afraid nobody can help me in my country to solve a couple of issues which I faced when my laptop updated from original Win7 x64 to Win10 x64.
So, let me start:
- The first one, I cannot install IDT HD driver for my 2.1 speakers by Altec Lansing. The speakers are work, but the problem with driver leads to unpossibility to set treble and bass level on touch panel. I see levels but they change just visually and don't affect to sound;
- The second one problem (less critical) is eject button placed on touch panel doesn't work by unknown reason.
How can I fix issues above? Please help.
