We are trying to restore this laptop to its original settings like when we bought it. It had windows 8.1 not sure if it is 32 bit or not it does not say on the box. We want to restore it without loosing the windows program. How would we do that?

Can't remember my power on password on HP stream notebook
My keyboard had stopped working but not all of it but of course the ones needed for my passwordpassword and I did not have a regular keyboard to plug in at the time. I thought that I was changing my windows password but apparently I set up a power on password and I cannot remember what it was. What can I do to restore or recover my notebook.

Laptop Recovery
After Locking my laptop, I returned to log back on and have no screen at all plus the disc drive makes noises as if it is working and the led lights for the caps lock and mouse pad are flashing and the other led lights across the top of the laptop from the on/off switch are on, but the screen does not come on at all. I am unsure of the model number as the only info printed on the laptop itself is HP Pavilion Entertainment PC plus SD-MS/Pro.MMC.XD. I have 3 HP dv7-1267 Recovery and Applications/Drivers DVD's. I have asked HP for assistance in getting this laptop back on but they wont help unless I have the serial number, I have looked in all the usual places i.e printed on the battery compartment but there is no model or serial number printed on any place I could see. I do have a printed slip of paper showing a bar code set back behind a clear plastic window near the on/off switch but am told that doesnt seem to help either.
Can anyone help me to recover get the screen working on this Laptop, and help me with the procedure to recover using the recovery discs.

factory reset boot loop
Hi, I am not very technical, but here is my issue. I have been getting the "blue screen of death" for about six months now, but the notebook has been ticking along. I have lost the DVD E: drive a few times, but managed to reinstate that until the last time. Currently system is not recognising E: drive.
I thought I would do a factory reset so I backed up everything and did the reset. Since then I am caught in a factory reset boot loop and I cannot get my pc to get past it. It keeps telling me the reset was incomplete and to retry, but I get not further.
I have a Windows Repair Disc and the HP Recovery Discs, but because I cannot use the E: drive they are useless. I have an external USB DVD drive as well, but it is not recognised either.
I have Linux Ubuntu on a USB stick and have been able to use that okay. It tells me there are 40 bad sectors on the 1TB hard drive.
I think that the recovery partition D: has been corrupted and the boot sector may be damaged. Is there anything I can do? I am tempted to just go with Linux at this point.
I Have a HP Pavilion DV 7 Entertainment notebook model 584037-001 with Windows 7 Home Premium. It is about four years old.
I have access to other MAC PCs, but no other Windows PCs.
Any ideas?

HP Pavilion touchsmart 15-n022TU
The computer loads the HP logo and the password screen but when it loads to the home screen it stays black. I can see the cursor but it doesn't load. I've tried hard resetting it and system restoring it but it won't work. Also tried restore point but no luck. My computer is a HP Pavilion touchsmart 15-n022TU.

Installing Windows 10
I installed windows 10 (29jul2015). Notebook started to download 2,7Gb, prepared to install and then after agreeing the conditions the screen went black.
Errors Hard disk 3F0, 3F1
Boot device not found, please install an operating system on your hard disk.
Notebook unable to start up, system repair disk of no use.
Can not go to command line.
Actually status: Notebook is searching for problems wich will be repaired when found.
Still looking after 3 days ...

HP Chromebook Keys 8 i k , not working
For Christmas I was given a HP Chromebook. However for some reason the keys 8 i k , have randomly stopped working. Sometimes they would work but as time passes by they are getting worse. I have tried holding down the refresh and the power button at the same time. At first it worked, but after the second day of trying this. It just went back to normal, meaning the keys have stopped working again. Could someone please help me out as I am needing my laptop for university projects and wihtout it I'm pretty useless. Any suggestions? Please help me. Thank you in advance

how to recover windows 8 single image factory image.
i tried to upgrade my laptop to windows 10 and it got upgraded but keeps on restarting so i tried to reset my laptop fully but after that it shows "unaccessable bootable device". then i sarted to reinstall my image. finaly i endup loosing everything. now i want to restore my laptop back to factory windows 8 but i coudnt. now i dont hav recovery image. please help me. what should i do?

Did the windows 10 download then went back to windows 8 and got this error.
Error: no boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed.
Does this have anything to do with windows 10? or was it just coincedence that the hard drive is failing?
Also anyone thinking of going to windows 10, please wait because its got a ton of bugs.
